About Georgia

Republic of Georgia is strategically located on the historical Silk Road between Black and Caspian Seas. Historically and geographically this country has always been a trading nation. 4.6 Million Population, 9 regions, 9 cities and 2 autonomous republics make up 697000sq km bordering Turkey, Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan. Since 2003, the country experienced considerable economic growth, 9.2% per annum. Opening to the western world and establishment of the free trade economy, positively changed the course of the forecasts for country’s future economic growth. Georgia’s potential possibility of integration in NATO and the European Union represents an interesting potential for development and stability in this region.

The country has several interesting resources and those are in sector of tourism and agriculture. Georgia, since 2004, has become an important transit country for petroleum products from the East to Europe.
