Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, January 2010 – Set to be Ras Al Khaimah’s latest and most exclusive resort, Banyan Tree Al Wadi soft-opened on 1 January 2010. Owned by RAKEEN Development PJSC and managed by Singapore-based Banyan Tree Holdings, the luxury desert spa resort offers city dwellers a unique retreat within its own nature reserve, exciting outdoor adventures, beach access and an 18-hole championship golf course. Located in Wadi Khadeja, the protected enclave of the sturdy, evergreen ghaf tree, the resort is a 45-minute drive from Dubai International Airport and located 20 kilometres from Ras Al Khaimah city centre. A selection of facilities will be available at the initial soft launch stage.

“My team and I are proud to be part of such a unique project and we look forward to creating memorable and exceptional experiences for our guests,” said Mr. Pascal Eppink, General Manager, Banyan Tree Al Wadi.

To celebrate its soft launch, Banyan Tree Al Wadi is offering a special promotion of a complimentary night with a minimum of two paid nights. This offer includes daily breakfast and welcome drinks for two, and is valid for stays from 1 January 2010 to 28 February 2010. Rates start from AED 2,101+ for the Al Rimal deluxe pool villa. Guests who book an additional third paid night will also receive a complimentary 90-minute spa session at the award-wining Banyan Tree Spa. Desert Elegance
Banyan Tree Al Wadi comprises 70 Al Rimal deluxe pool villas spanning around 158 square metres, as well as 16 Al Khaimah and 15 Al Sahari tented pool villas that measure approximately 253 square metres. This oasis of indulgence offers a contemporary adaptation of traditional Arabic architecture amidst miles of rolling sand dunes, creating a comfortably seamless experience of staying in the desert. A tribute to the heritage of the region – from the tented design that is inspired by local Bedouin tribes and nomadic lifestyle, to traditional mud brick buildings – the villas also feature elaborate Arabic touches of lattice woodwork, stylised motifs, intricate carvings in arabesque design and high ceilings.
