The Gateway City will herald a new era in the development of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. It is being planned with the utmost credence to deeply entrenched social, cultural and environmental values, whilst relying heavily on the most stringent and tested technological advances. The main traits synonymous with the project will be:

• A link between the past, the present and, the future.  
• A self contained and sustaining setting catering to the inhabitants’ every conceivable want and need. There will be no need to exit the city for any requirements. Every whim or fantasy will be fulfilled from within its confines.
• Individuality or uniqueness in design. A conscious effort will be made to encourage diversity of developments within the city. Flair and creativity will be promoted. The notion of preconception or predetermination will not be encouraged or tolerated.
• Quality and comfortable living. The city will become a substitute and replacement for your accustomed lifestyle. It will not only become your home away from home, but the place you truly call “home sweet home”.

The development will consist of five phases, extending over 400 million square feet. Phase 1 will consist of an integrated city to service, support and supplement the capital city of Ras Al Khaimah. The estimated time for completion has been set at 2012.
